Gigy Kuruttukulam is the first interventional Neurologist in Kerala and the one of the few in India. Interventional Neurology is a subspecialty which treats vascular diseases of the brain like stroke, aneurysms , AV malformations etc by use of angiographic procedures and using various devices like coils, stents balloons and Onyx. These procedures are done is specialized cathlabs with facilities to view the blood vessels very clearly using various techniques like DSA ( digital substraction angiography ), 3D rotational angio and roadmap.
